Ingredients

  • 250 g frozen mixed seafood thawed and drained
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 15 g fresh ginger julienned
  • 3 garlic cloves thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 4 to 5 spring onions sliced
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Seafood
  • Thaw the frozen mixed seafood completely and drain well.
  • Pat the seafood dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps it stir-fry instead of steam.
  • Step 2: Cook the Aromatics
  • Heat the cooking oil in a large wok or non-stick skillet over high heat.
  • Once the oil begins to shimmer, add the julienned ginger and sliced garlic.
  • Stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let the garlic burn.
  • Step 3: Stir-Fry the Seafood
  • Add the seafood mixture to the hot wok.
  • Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the seafood is fully cooked and just opaque. Avoid overcooking to keep it tender.
  • Step 4: Season the Stir Fry
  • Pour in the soy sauce and stir well to coat all of the seafood evenly.
  • Continue stir-frying for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  • Taste and add salt only if needed.
  • Step 5: Finish and Serve
  • Add the sliced spring onions and toss gently until they just begin to soften.
  • Serve the Quick Ginger Garlic Seafood Stir Fry Recipe immediately over steamed jasmine rice, brown rice, fried rice, or noodles.

Notes

  • Frozen mixed seafood usually contains shrimp, squid, mussels, and scallops, making it convenient for quick meals.
  • Add broccoli, snow peas, mushrooms, bell peppers, carrots, or bok choy for extra vegetables.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce if preferred.
  • A drizzle of oyster-flavored halal sauce or gluten-free tamari can add extra depth of flavor.
  • Serve with steamed jasmine rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice.
