Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies

Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies are thick, soft, and bakery-style treats.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy.
  • Add egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Divide dough into 6 large portions and shape into thick mounds.
  • Place cookies on baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  • Bake the Giant Chocolate Chip Cookies for 20–25 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cool on the baking sheet for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • You can make smaller cookies by dividing into more portions
  • Add nuts like walnuts or pecans for crunch
  • Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top for contrast
