Ingredients
  

For the crumble

  • 300 g plain flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 175 g brown sugar
  • 200 g unsalted butter cubed

For the filling

  • 450 g apples peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 50 g brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp plain flour
  • Pinch ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan).
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and sugar.
  • Rub in butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • In another bowl, combine apples with sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
  • Lightly grease a baking dish.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly in the dish.
  • Sprinkle the crumble mixture on top.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbling.
  • This easy apple crumble recipe is best served warm with cream or custard.

Notes

  • Swap apples with pears or berries for variation
  • Add vanilla extract for extra aroma
  • Serve with custard, whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream
