Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream butter and both sugars until smooth.
  • Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract.
  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  • Scoop 2–3 tablespoons of dough and roll into balls.
  • Place on baking sheets, spacing evenly.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  • Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring.
  • This chocolate chip cookie recipe yields soft, bakery-style cookies when not overbaked.

Notes

You can substitute some chocolate chips with chunks for a rustic look. This chocolate chip cookie recipe also works well with nuts or white chocolate additions.
