  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the apple thoroughly.
  • Slice the apple into thin ⅛-inch slices using a sharp knife or mandoline.
  • Remove any seeds from the slices.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on a cutting board or tray.
  • In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over both sides of the apple slices.
  • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the basket, avoiding excessive overlap.
  • Set the air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  • Air fry for 15 minutes.
  • Toss or flip the slices every 5 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  • During the final few minutes, monitor closely to prevent burning.
  • Remove the apple chips when golden brown and nearly crisp.
  • Transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Allow the chips to cool completely. They will continue to crisp as they cool.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Cooking times may vary slightly depending on air fryer model.
  • For a sugar-free version, omit the sugar and use cinnamon alone.
  • Thin slices produce the crispiest chips.
