Ingredients

  • 2 green or yellow bananas not ripe
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil or olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat the Air Fryer

  • Preheat your air fryer to 300°F (150°C) for 5 minutes.

Step 2: Slice the Bananas

  • Peel the bananas and slice them into even ¼-inch rounds.
  • Transfer the slices to a large mixing bowl.

Step 3: Season the Bananas

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the avocado oil and ground cinnamon.
  • Pour the mixture over the banana slices and gently toss until every slice is lightly coated.

Step 4: Air Fry

  • Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry the Air Fryer Banana Chips for 25–28 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through cooking.
  • The chips should become lightly golden with crisp edges.

Step 5: Cool and Crisp

  • Remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool for 5–10 minutes.
  • They will continue to crisp as they cool.
  • Serve immediately or store for later.

Notes

  • Green bananas create crunchier chips.
  • Yellow bananas produce a slightly sweeter snack with a softer center.
  • Try adding pumpkin pie spice or nutmeg for extra flavor.
  • Store only after the chips have completely cooled.
