Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce – Bold & Flavorful

Thai Turkey Burgers with Peanut Sauce are lean turkey patties mixed with fresh herbs and vegetables.

Ingredients
  

For the Burgers

  • 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped broccoli
  • 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 green onion chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • Baby spinach leaves for topping

For the Peanut Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon gluten-free reduced-sodium tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions
 

Make the Peanut Sauce

  • Add peanut butter, rice vinegar, tamari (or soy sauce), water, garlic, sesame oil, chili garlic sauce, honey, and ground ginger to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  • Reserve 3 tablespoons of the sauce for topping and set aside. The remaining sauce will be mixed into the burger patties.

Prepare the Burgers

  • In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, shredded carrots, chopped broccoli, green onion, cilantro, salt, red pepper flakes, and the remaining peanut sauce. Mix gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
  • Form mixture into 4 equal patties.

Cook the Burgers

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and lightly spray with nonstick spray or brush with oil.
  • Cook patties for 3–4 minutes on the first side. Flip, spray lightly again if needed, and cook for another 3–4 minutes until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. Internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).

Assemble

  • Place each burger on a bun. Top with about 2 teaspoons of the reserved peanut sauce and fresh baby spinach leaves.

Notes

  • Substitute almond butter for peanut butter if needed.
