Swirled Garlic Herb and Cheese Bread

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup fresh herbs parsley, basil, thyme
  • 1 cup shredded cheese mozzarella or cheddar

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt.
  • Add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Punch down the dough and roll it into a large rectangle.
  • Evenly spread garlic, fresh herbs, and cheese over the dough surface.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and pinch the seams to seal.
  • Place the rolled dough into a greased loaf pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

You can swap herbs based on what you have available. Rosemary or chives work beautifully. Serve warm with butter, soup, or as a sandwich bread.
