Ingredients
  

  • 12 mozzarella sticks
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Place the mozzarella sticks in the freezer for at least 1 hour to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
  • In a shallow bowl, combine the flour, cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
  • Beat the eggs in a separate bowl.
  • Place the breadcrumbs into a third shallow bowl.
  • Dip each mozzarella stick into the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Coat the stick in the beaten eggs.
  • Roll it thoroughly in breadcrumbs.
  • For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating one more time.
  • Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the Spicy Nashville-Style Mozzarella Sticks in batches for 1–2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve immediately with ranch dressing, marinara sauce, or spicy dipping sauce.
