Sourdough Discard Tortillas

Substitute avocado oil with olive oil

Ingredients
  

  • 190 g water
  • 100 g sourdough starter
  • 350 g all-purpose flour
  • 7 g salt
  • 5 g baking powder
  • 60 g avocado oil

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together water and sourdough starter.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Add avocado oil and mix until crumbly.
  • Pour in the sourdough mixture and mix until dough forms.
  • Knead briefly for about 1 minute until smooth. Add flour if too sticky.
  • Cover and let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
  • Divide dough into 16 portions and shape into balls.
  • Cover and rest another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat a skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Roll each dough ball into a thin circle.
  • Cook for about 1 minute until bubbles form, then flip and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Repeat with remaining dough.
  • These Sourdough Discard Tortillas are best served warm and soft.
