Sourdough Discard Pretzel Bites

Soft pretzel bites made with sourdough discard.

Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup warm water

Optional

  • Melted butter for brushing
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix sourdough discard, warm water, and sugar until smooth.
  • Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3–4 minutes until smooth.
  • Divide dough into small pieces and roll into bite-sized balls.
  • Bring a pot of water to a gentle boil.
  • Boil each batch of pretzel bites for about 30 seconds, then remove and place back on the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Brush with melted butter while warm if desired.
  • These Sourdough Discard Pretzel Bites are best served warm for the perfect soft and chewy texture.
