Place all drumsticks in the slow cooker in a single layer if possible.
In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, black pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning.
Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken drumsticks.
Drizzle honey over the top of the seasoned chicken.
Pour 1½ cups of barbecue sauce over the drumsticks, coating them well.
Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
Preheat the broiler. Transfer drumsticks to a foil- or parchment-lined baking sheet.
Brush with the remaining ½ cup barbecue sauce and broil for a few minutes until caramelized and slightly crisp. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
