Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Steak Bites

Steak Bites
- 4 pounds sirloin steak or chuck roast cut into bite-sized cubes
- 1 ½ teaspoons kosher salt or to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika sweet, not hot
- 3 tablespoons olive oil divided
- 1 large sweet onion thinly sliced
- 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
- 1 1-ounce packet au jus gravy mix
- 6 cloves garlic pressed
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter sliced
Prep the Beef
Place cubed beef into a large bowl.
Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir to coat evenly.
Add 2 tablespoons olive oil and mix until all pieces are well coated.
Brown the Beef
Heat remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add beef in batches, browning on two sides.
Transfer browned beef to the slow cooker.
Sauté the Onion
In the same skillet, add sliced onion.
Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned and softened.
Transfer onions to the slow cooker and mix with the beef.
Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth and au jus gravy mix.
Stir in pressed garlic.
Pour mixture over the beef and onions.
Place sliced butter evenly over the top.
