Ingredients

  • 1 cup lump crab meat picked over for shells
  • ¼ cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, and black pepper.
  • Fold everything together gently until evenly combined.
  • Add the Panko breadcrumbs and beaten egg. Mix just until incorporated to keep the crab meat chunky.
  • Shape the mixture into golf ball-sized portions and place them on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Brush each crab bomb generously with melted butter.
  • Bake the Crab Bombs for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown and heated through.
  • Serve immediately with lemon wedges and your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Fresh crab produces the sweetest flavor.
  • You can substitute yellow mustard for Dijon.
  • Homemade breadcrumbs work well but Panko gives the crispiest texture.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and lemon slices before serving.
  • Pair with roasted vegetables, salad, or fries.
