Cuisine American
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup milk
- 1 cup mustard-cheddar sauce
Prepare the breading stations
Set up three bowls:
Bowl 1: Combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Bowl 2: Whisk the eggs together with Dijon mustard.
Bowl 3: Add the coarsely crushed pretzels.
Coat the chicken
Dredge each chicken breast in the seasoned flour mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated.
Dip the chicken into the egg and mustard mixture.
Press the chicken into the crushed pretzels so the coating fully covers the surface.
Prepare the sauce
In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese melts and forms a smooth sauce.
Add the mustard-cheddar sauce and stir until fully combined and creamy.
This pretzel chicken with mustard cheddar sauce pairs beautifully with roasted potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh green salad.
