Potato Pancakes with Savory Beef and Cheese

Crispy potato pancakes stuffed with seasoned beef and melted cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and grated
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour or cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Grate the potatoes and squeeze out excess liquid using a clean towel.
  • In a bowl, mix potatoes, eggs, flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Add onion and garlic, cook until soft, then season with paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let cool slightly.
  • Take a portion of the potato mixture and flatten it into a thin layer.
  • Add a spoonful of beef filling and sprinkle cheese on top.
  • Cover with another thin potato layer and seal edges היט.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and cook each stuffed pancake for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Notes

  • You can swap ground beef with ground chicken if preferred
  • Serve with yogurt sauce or garlic dip
