Pizza Pockets Recipe

Homemade pizza pockets filled with cheese and halal toppings.

Ingredients
  

For the dough:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ to ½ cup water or milk

For the filling:

  • cups shredded pizza blend cheese
  • 20 slices beef pepperoni halal
  • ½ cup black olives sliced
  • 1 small red onion chopped
  • 5 slices turkey ham crumbled
  • 14 ounces pizza sauce
  • Fresh basil
  • 2 egg yolks

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet.
  • Prepare dough by mixing flour, salt, butter, egg, and liquid until soft and smooth.
  • Roll out dough and cut into circles or use prepared discs.
  • Spread pizza sauce onto each disc.
  • Add beef pepperoni, turkey ham, olives, and onion.
  • Top with shredded cheese.
  • Brush edges with water, fold, and seal using a fork.
  • Brush tops with egg wash.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden.
  • Serve warm with extra pizza sauce and garnish with basil.
  • This Pizza Pockets Recipe is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven while the cheese is still melty.

Notes

  • Swap beef pepperoni with grilled chicken pieces
