Ingredients

Parmesan Crusted Tilapia

  • 6 tilapia fillets about 5 ounces each
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper optional
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 medium lemon cut into wedges, optional

Optional Vegetables

  • 2 cups soft vegetables such as asparagus, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, or green beans
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly grease a large sheet pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels, then arrange them in a single layer on the prepared pan.
  • Season both sides of the fish with garlic salt and black pepper.
  • Spread about 2 teaspoons of mayonnaise evenly over the top of each fillet.
  • In a small bowl, combine the grated Parmesan, dried oregano, dried basil, and paprika.
  • Sprinkle the Parmesan mixture evenly over the mayonnaise-coated fish, gently pressing it onto the surface.
  • If making a sheet pan meal, arrange the soft vegetables around the fish in a single layer. Drizzle them with olive oil and season with sea salt and black pepper.
  • Bake the Parmesan Crusted Tilapia for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the Parmesan topping is lightly golden.
  • Serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

Cod, haddock, or another mild white fish can be used instead of tilapia, although cooking time may vary depending on thickness.
