Ingredients

  • 1 pack Hawaiian dinner rolls 12 rolls or slider buns
  • 12 slices cheese cheddar, mozzarella, or your favorite melting cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Slice rolls into 12 individual rolls, or cut into two sections of 6 rolls each. Using a serrated knife, slice the rolls in half horizontally.
  • Flatten the tops and bottoms slightly using a rolling pin, smooth glass, or your hands.
  • Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Melt butter in 30-second increments in the microwave. Stir in garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  • Brush the butter mixture onto the inside of one half of each roll. This buttered side will become the crispy outside.
  • Cut each cheese slice into four quarters.
  • Place rolls butter side down on the griddle. Add four small pieces of cheese to each roll.
  • Place the top half of each roll on the cheese with the inside facing up. Brush the tops with remaining butter mixture.
  • Cook for a few minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip and cook until the other side is golden and cheese is fully melted.
  • Remove from heat. If cooking in sections, allow to cool slightly before slicing into individual Mini Grilled Cheese sandwiches.

Notes

• Best served hot and fresh.
