Ingredients

  • 24 vanilla ice cream sandwiches unwrapped
  • 16 ounces whipped topping thawed
  • 12 ounces hot fudge ice cream topping slightly warmed
  • 12 ounces caramel ice cream topping
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans or to taste

Instructions

  • Gather and measure all the ingredients. Make enough room in your freezer for a 9x13-inch dish before beginning.
  • Arrange approximately half of the vanilla ice cream sandwiches in a single snug layer across the bottom of the dish. Cut sandwiches when necessary to fill smaller gaps.
  • Spread a layer of whipped topping evenly over the ice cream sandwiches.
  • Drizzle some of the slightly warmed hot fudge topping over the whipped topping, followed by a generous drizzle of caramel topping.
  • Arrange the remaining ice cream sandwiches over the first layer. Repeat with more whipped topping, hot fudge, and caramel.
  • Finish your Ice Cream Sandwich Cake with a smooth layer of whipped topping. Drizzle with additional chocolate and caramel if desired, then scatter the chopped pecans evenly over the surface.
  • Cover the dish securely with aluminum foil or a freezer-safe lid. Freeze for at least 30 minutes, or preferably longer, until the layers are firm enough to slice cleanly.
  • Remove the cake from the freezer shortly before serving. Slice into squares and serve cold with additional toppings if desired.

Notes

For the firmest texture and cleanest slices, assemble the cake several hours before serving and keep it frozen.
Chocolate or cookies-and-cream ice cream sandwiches can replace vanilla sandwiches for a different flavor.
Walnuts or almonds can replace pecans. For a nut-free version, omit the nuts completely.
