Instructions
In a large bowl, whisk together the honey, Dijon mustard, olive oil, garlic, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Add the chicken and toss until every piece is evenly coated in the honey mustard marinade.
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
To Grill
Preheat the grill to 400°F (200°C).
Lightly oil the grill grates and place the marinated chicken on the grill.
Close the lid and grill for 6–8 minutes.
Flip the chicken once and continue grilling for another 6–8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Transfer the chicken to a plate, cover loosely with foil, and let it rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
To Bake
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the chicken in a single layer.
Bake for 20–30 minutes, depending on thickness, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
Rest the chicken under foil for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Grainy Dijon mustard provides extra texture and flavor.
Boneless chicken thighs are an excellent substitute for chicken breasts.
Serve with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, rice, or a fresh salad.
Leftovers are delicious in sandwiches, wraps, or salads.
Fresh lemon wedges add a bright finishing touch
