Honey Garlic Shrimp

Honey Garlic Shrimp is a quick 20-minute dinner recipe.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce reduced sodium recommended
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger minced (optional)
  • 1 lb medium shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • Chopped green onion for garnish optional

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the sauce.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger.
  • Divide the sauce.
  • Reserve half of the mixture for cooking later and use the remaining half as the marinade.
  • Marinate the shrimp.
  • Place the shrimp in a sealed container or zip-top bag and pour half of the marinade over them.
  • Seal and refrigerate for 15 minutes (or up to 8–12 hours).
  • Cook the shrimp.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Remove shrimp from marinade and place them in the skillet. Discard the used marinade.
  • Cook the shrimp on one side until pink, about 45 seconds.
  • Flip the shrimp and pour in the reserved sauce.
  • Cook for another 1–2 minutes until shrimp are fully cooked and coated in the honey garlic sauce.
  • Serve the Honey Garlic Shrimp with the sauce from the pan and garnish with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Frozen shrimp can be used; thaw completely before cooking.
