Ingredients

Fresh Ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pantry Staples

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup light brown sugar packed
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon divided
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven. Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Mix the wet ingredients. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add egg and honey. Whisk in the egg, honey, and vanilla extract until the mixture becomes glossy and fully combined.
  • Add dry ingredients. Stir in the flour, salt, and ½ teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix gently until just combined.
  • Prepare the topping. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar with the remaining ½ teaspoon cinnamon.
  • Spread the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the surface evenly.
  • Add cinnamon sugar topping. Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly across the batter.
  • Bake. Bake for 22–25 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool. Allow the Honey Cinnamon Dessert to cool completely before slicing.
  • Serve. Cut into squares and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

This dessert has a texture similar to a soft blondie. If you want stronger cinnamon flavor, increase the cinnamon in the batter slightly.
