Step 1: Make the Honey BBQ Sauce
Heat the vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, yellow mustard, soy sauce, and chili powder.
Bring the mixture to a gentle boil.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Remove from the heat.
Transfer about half of the sauce to a separate bowl for basting the chicken. Reserve the remaining sauce for serving.
Step 2: Prepare the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
If needed, lightly pound the thicker ends so each breast cooks evenly.
Season both sides lightly with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Step 3: Grill the Chicken
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F / 205°C).
Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Place the chicken on the grill.
Cook for 7–10 minutes on the first side.
Flip only once and continue cooking another 7–10 minutes.
Brush generously with the reserved basting sauce every 3–4 minutes while grilling.
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Step 4: Rest and Serve
Transfer the chicken to a serving platter.
Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Serve with the reserved Honey BBQ Sauce on the side for dipping or drizzling
