  • cups whole milk
  • cup cane sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, whole milk, cane sugar, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  • Warm over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, whisking frequently until the sugar dissolves completely.
  • Remove from heat and pour the mixture into a heatproof bowl.
  • Cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Once chilled, whisk the mixture again until smooth.
  • Pour into your ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer instructions (about 20–30 minutes).
  • The Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream will have a soft-serve consistency at this stage.
  • Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for 2–4 hours for a firmer texture.
  • Serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Substitute cane sugar with honey or maple syrup if desired.
  • Serve with fresh fruit, cake, or warm desserts like brownies.
  • For a richer taste, increase cream slightly and reduce milk.
