French Toast Sticks Recipe

Easy French toast sticks recipe made with brioche bread.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup cream
  • 1 ½ tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 loaf brioche bread thick sliced

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, whisk together flour and milk until smooth.
  • Add eggs, cream, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Whisk until fully combined.
  • Slice brioche bread into 1 to 1½ inch sticks.
  • Dip each bread stick into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  • Carefully place into hot oil and fry in batches.
  • Turn occasionally and cook until golden brown on all sides (about 2–3 minutes per side).
  • Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
