Easy Honey Garlic Chicken

Honey Garlic Chicken is a quick skillet recipe made with tender chicken and a sweet garlic sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil or canola oil
  • 1 ½ pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts, cubed
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • Cooked rice optional, for serving
  • Sliced green onions optional
  • Sesame seeds optional
  • Chopped peanuts optional
  • Lime wedges optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Season the cubed chicken lightly with salt and black pepper.
  • Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned on one side.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes.
  • Flip the chicken pieces and pour the sauce into the skillet.
  • Toss well to coat and cook for another 4–5 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce thickens.
  • Serve the Honey Garlic Chicken over rice and garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, peanuts, and a squeeze of lime if desired.

Notes

  • Serve with steamed broccoli or stir-fried vegetables
  • Add grated ginger for extra depth
  • Use quinoa or cauliflower rice as a low-carb option
