Pour the warm water into a large mixing bowl. The water should feel comfortably warm rather than hot.
Add the active dry yeast and granulated sugar. Stir briefly, then leave the mixture for about 5 minutes, or until the surface looks frothy.
Pour in the extra-virgin olive oil and gently stir until combined.
Add the flour and salt. Mix with a spatula or wooden spoon until a slightly sticky dough begins to form.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured work surface. Knead until it becomes smooth and elastic, adding a small amount of flour only if needed to prevent excessive sticking.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll or gently stretch each portion to fit your desired pan.
Lightly grease two sheet pans with nonstick cooking spray or olive oil. Transfer the shaped dough to the prepared pans.
Prick the dough in several places with a fork to help prevent large air pockets from forming. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
Par-bake the pizza crusts for approximately 5 minutes.
Remove the pans from the oven. Divide the pizza sauce evenly between the two crusts, leaving a small border around the edges.
Sprinkle with mozzarella and Monterey Jack cheese. Add halal beef or turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, or your preferred toppings.
Return the Easy Homemade Pan Pizza to the oven and bake for 10–13 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is completely melted and bubbling.
Remove the pizzas from the oven. If desired, immediately brush the exposed crust with garlic butter.
Finish with fresh basil, crushed red pepper flakes, grated Parmesan, or other favorite pizza toppings. Slice and serve warm.
