Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • 2 pounds chicken tenders boneless chicken thighs, or chicken breast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Garlic Parmesan Butter Sauce
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick butter
  • 8 –10 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce or to taste
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley minced
  • Chicken Seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepp

Instructions

  • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
  • Combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
  • Cut the chicken into approximately 3-inch pieces. Place the chicken in a large bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with the seasoning mixture. Toss thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated.
  • Thread the seasoned chicken tightly onto the skewers. If necessary, trim the wooden skewers so they fit comfortably inside your air fryer basket.
  • To prepare the sauce, place the butter and minced garlic in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat briefly until the butter is mostly melted.
  • Stir in the Parmesan, hot sauce, red pepper flakes, and fresh parsley until combined. If the mixture separates, stir in 1–2 tablespoons of softened butter until smoother.
  • Transfer about one-third of the sauce to a separate bowl for brushing onto the partially cooked chicken. Keep the remaining sauce completely separate so it stays clean for the final coating.
  • Arrange 2–3 skewers in the air fryer without overcrowding. Air fry the Garlic Parmesan Chicken Skewers at 400°F (about 204°C) for 5 minutes.
  • Turn the skewers, brush them with the separated basting sauce, and air fry for another 2 minutes.
  • Turn again, brush with more sauce, and cook for another 5–6 minutes, or until the thickest chicken pieces reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Depending on the air fryer and thickness of the chicken, total cooking time should be approximately 12–14 minutes.
  • Brush the fully cooked chicken with the clean reserved garlic Parmesan sauce. Finish with extra grated Parmesan and parsley before serving.

Notes

Boneless chicken thighs, chicken breast, and chicken tenders all work well. Adjust cooking time according to the thickness of the chicken rather than relying solely on the clock.
