Cuisine American
- 1½ pounds 750 g tilapia fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Ground black pepper to taste
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper
- 1½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges for serving
Preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C).
Rinse the tilapia fillets under cold water and pat them completely dry with paper towels.
Arrange the fillets in a single layer in a lightly greased baking dish.
Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the fish.
Sprinkle with minced garlic, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and fresh lemon juice.
Evenly top each fillet with shredded Parmesan cheese.
Bake the Baked Tilapia for about 10 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.
- Frozen tilapia works well once completely thawed and patted dry.
- Freshly grated Parmesan melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
- Adjust cayenne pepper according to your preferred spice level.
- Finish with extra lemon juice before serving for maximum freshness.
