Place one slice of sourdough bread on a clean surface.
Add half of the shredded dill havarti cheese on top of the bread.
Sprinkle the chopped dill pickle slices evenly over the cheese.
Add the remaining shredded dill havarti on top of the pickles.
Place the second slice of bread on top to form the sandwich.
Spread butter on the outside of both slices of bread.
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat.
