Ingredients
  

  • 6 –8 ounce carton small to medium mushrooms
  • 1/3 cup almond flour
  • 1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese optional, omit if dairy free
  • 1 extra large egg beaten
  • 1/2 tablespoon butter melted (omit if dairy free)
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Brush avocado oil or olive oil evenly over a baking sheet.
  • Rinse mushrooms and pat dry thoroughly.
  • Grind sunflower seeds in a blender or food processor until they reach a powder-like texture.
  • In a large zippered bag, combine ground sunflower seeds, almond flour, garlic powder, sea salt, paprika, dried parsley, and optional parmesan cheese. Shake to mix.
  • In a bowl, beat the egg. Stir in melted butter if using.
  • Dip each mushroom into the egg mixture, then place it into the bag with the coating mixture. Seal and shake until fully coated.
  • Arrange mushrooms on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12–14 minutes, turning halfway through.
  • Broil on low for 1–2 minutes to crisp the coating further, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • Cool slightly and serve warm.
  • These Crispy Oven Fried Garlic Mushrooms are best enjoyed fresh and hot from the oven.

Notes

  • Serve with garlic aioli, ranch, or marinara for dipping.
