Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings separated into wingettes and drumettes
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon aluminum-free baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

Garlic Parmesan Sauce

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 garlic cloves finely minced
  • 3 tablespoons finely grated Parmesan cheese plus extra for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped Italian parsley plus extra for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack placed over the baking sheet for maximum crispiness.
  • Pat the chicken wings completely dry using paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps create crispier skin.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, baking powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the chicken wings and toss until every piece is evenly coated.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each piece. Use two baking sheets if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  • Bake for 35 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through cooking so both sides become evenly golden and crispy.
  • While the wings bake, prepare the garlic Parmesan sauce. In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  • Remove the baked wings from the oven and transfer them to a large clean bowl.
  • Pour the garlic Parmesan sauce over the wings and gently toss until each wing is completely coated.
  • Return the coated Crispy Garlic Parmesan Wings to the baking sheet and bake for another 5 minutes so the sauce adheres to the chicken and the garlic becomes fragrant.
  • Remove from the oven and garnish generously with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving immediately

Notes

  • Fresh garlic provides the richest flavor, but garlic paste may also be used.
  • Romano cheese can replace Parmesan for a sharper taste.
  • These wings pair well with celery, carrot sticks, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing.
  • Double the garlic Parmesan sauce if you prefer extra coating.
  • The recipe can easily be doubled for larger gatherings.
