Season chicken with ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon black pepper.
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning once, until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil and broccoli. Cook over medium-high heat until bright green and slightly seared.
Add garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in chicken broth and let it reduce slightly for about 30 seconds.
Lower heat to medium and stir in heavy cream, remaining salt, and pepper. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened.
Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce and broccoli over it.
