Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
Cream butter and sugar
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until smooth and creamy.
Add eggs
Add the lightly beaten eggs and mix until fully combined.
Mash the bananas
Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until they reach a chunky applesauce consistency.
Mix the wet ingredients
Add the mashed bananas and vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and mix until well blended.
Prepare the dry ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
Combine the batter
Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just incorporated.
Fold in chocolate chips
Gently fold in about 3/4 cup of the chocolate chips.
Transfer to the pan
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top.
Bake the banana bread
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the bread
Let the Chocolate Chip Banana Bread rest in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
