Chicken Wonton Tacos

Chicken wonton tacos are crispy baked wonton shells filled with savory hoisin chicken and fresh slaw.

Ingredients
  

Chicken

  • 2 chicken breasts finely diced
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced

Asian-Inspired Slaw

  • 1 397g bag coleslaw mix
  • 4 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey

Tacos + Toppings

  • 16 wonton wrappers
  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Chopped cilantro
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray wonton wrappers with oil and drape them over a baking dish edge to form taco shapes.
  • Bake for 7–8 minutes, then gently separate while still soft. Return to oven for another 7–8 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • In a bowl, mix chicken with hoisin sauce, sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger.
  • Heat a skillet over high heat and cook chicken for 7–8 minutes until fully cooked.
  • In another bowl, mix all slaw ingredients until well combined.
  • Assemble chicken wonton tacos by filling shells with chicken, topping with slaw, and drizzling sweet chili sauce.
  • Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • Swap honey with maple syrup if preferred.
  • Add shredded carrots or red cabbage for extra color.
  • Serve with lime wedges for brightness.
