Prepare the Onions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a large skillet over high heat.
Add the sliced onions and cook for 4–6 minutes until softened and lightly charred.
Transfer onions to a plate.
Cook the Beef
Reduce heat to medium-high.
Add the remaining teaspoon of oil and ground beef.
Cook for about 5 minutes, breaking the beef into small crumbles.
Stir in mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Continue cooking for 2 more minutes until flavorful and browned.
Remove from heat.
Assemble the Sliders
Without separating the rolls, slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally.
Place the bottom half in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
Layer ingredients in this order:
American cheese slices
Cooked onions
Ground beef mixture
Shredded cheddar cheese
Dill pickles
Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
Brush melted butter over the tops.
Sprinkle evenly with sesame seeds.
Make the Burger Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and mustard.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve alongside the sliders or drizzle over each sandwich before serving.
These Cheeseburger Sliders are best enjoyed warm while the cheese is perfectly melted and gooey.
