- 450 g pizza dough room temperature
- 7 slices American cheese halved
- 14 mini beef meatballs thawed
- 45 g baking soda
- 1 egg beaten
- Coarse sea salt
- Yellow mustard optional
Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Divide dough into 14 equal pieces. Stretch each piece into a strip.
Add cheese and a meatball, then wrap tightly and seal completely.
Place all balls on the tray.
Boil 1.2L water and add baking soda.
Boil each dough ball for 20–30 seconds, then transfer back to tray.
Brush with egg and sprinkle with salt.
Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown
- Swap American cheese with cheddar or mozzarella
- Use whole wheat dough for a healthier option
