Ingredients

  • 16 ounces cream cheese room temperature
  • 1.5 ounces halal-suitable ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 5 flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped halal turkey ham
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green onion

Instructions

  • Add the softened cream cheese, ranch seasoning mix, and shredded sharp cheddar cheese to a medium mixing bowl.
  • Stir thoroughly until the cheeses and seasoning are evenly combined and the mixture is smooth enough to spread.
  • Lay the flour tortillas flat on a clean work surface.
  • Divide the cream cheese mixture evenly among the five tortillas. Spread it over each tortilla in an approximately 1/4-inch-thick layer, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle the finely chopped turkey ham and green onions evenly over the cream cheese mixture.
  • Starting at one edge, tightly roll each tortilla into a compact log. Roll firmly enough that the cream cheese filling holds everything together without squeezing the filling out.
  • Wrap or cover the Cheese Tortilla Roll Ups and refrigerate for 1–2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled and firm.
  • Remove the chilled tortilla rolls from the refrigerator. Using a sharp knife, trim the uneven ends if desired.
  • Cut each roll into approximately 1/2-inch-thick wheels.
  • Arrange the cream cheese tortilla roll ups on a serving platter and serve chilled.

Notes

Turkey ham replaces traditional ham in this recipe to create halal-friendly turkey ham roll ups. Choose a halal-certified turkey ham when available.
You can replace sharp cheddar with mild cheddar, Monterey Jack, or another favorite halal-suitable shredded cheese.
For a little extra color, add very finely diced red bell pepper. Fresh herbs such as parsley, dill, or chives can also complement the ranch flavor.
