Banana Cobbler Recipe

Banana cobbler is a baked dessert with sweet bananas and a crumbly topping.

Ingredients
  

For the Topping

  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

For the Filling

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons banana extract optional
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 4 ripe bananas sliced

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and softened butter until crumbly. Stir in oats and pecans, then set aside.
  • In another bowl, whisk flour, sugar, and milk until smooth. Add melted butter and mix well.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared dish.
  • Arrange sliced bananas evenly on top.
  • Sprinkle the streusel topping over the bananas.
  • Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown and set.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.
  • This banana cobbler recipe is best served warm.

Notes

  • Substitute walnuts for pecans if desired
