Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps (Quick & Healthy)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/4 lb lean ground turkey or ground chicken
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 8 oz can water chestnuts (drained and chopped)
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons roasted red chili paste
  • Pinch of salt
  • 12 Bibb or butter lettuce leaves

Instructions
 

  • Cook the turkey
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey, garlic, and ginger. Cook for about 6 minutes until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Add crunch and flavor
  • Stir in green onions and chopped water chestnuts. Mix well and remove from heat.
  • Prepare the sauce
  • In a small bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and chili paste.
  • Combine everything
  • Pour the sauce over the turkey mixture and toss until fully coated.
  • Assemble wraps
  • Spoon about 1/4 cup of the mixture into each lettuce leaf.
  • Serve and enjoy
  • Serve your Asian Turkey Lettuce Wraps immediately while warm.
