Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks (Crispy & Easy)

Crispy mozzarella sticks made in the air fryer

Ingredients
  

  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 8 whole milk or low-fat mozzarella sticks
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions
 

  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with wax paper. Lightly beat the egg in a wide, shallow bowl.
  • In a second wide bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  • Dip each mozzarella stick into the egg, coating completely, then roll in breadcrumbs until fully covered.
  • Place coated sticks on the baking sheet without touching. Freeze for 30–60 minutes.
  • Remove from freezer and repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating. Freeze again for 30–60 minutes.
  • Preheat air fryer to 390°F. Spray basket and sticks lightly with cooking spray.
  • Air fry the mozzarella sticks for 6–8 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  • Serve immediately while hot and melty.

Notes

 
  • Add garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor
