Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan

Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan is a crispy breaded chicken dish topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Carefully butterfly the chicken breasts by slicing them horizontally to create four thinner cutlets. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  • Place the flour in a shallow bowl and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  • In a second bowl, beat the eggs until well combined.
  • In a third bowl, mix the panko bread crumbs, grated parmesan, oregano, red pepper flakes, and garlic powder.
  • Dredge each chicken piece in flour, shaking off excess. Dip into the eggs, then coat in the panko mixture, pressing gently so the crumbs stick.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  • Arrange the breaded chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for about 5 minutes per side until the chicken is nearly cooked through and golden.
  • Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
  • Return the chicken to the air fryer and cook for another 3 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes slightly golden. This finishing step completes the delicious air fryer chicken parmesan.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve this dish with spaghetti, garlic bread, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad. You can also slice the chicken and serve it in sandwiches or wraps for a delicious variation.
