Ingredients

The Spices

  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

The Chicken

  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 415°F (213°C).
  • Prepare the chicken by slicing each breast horizontally into thin, flat pieces. Thin pieces cook more evenly and stay juicy.
  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  • In a small bowl, combine paprika, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, brown sugar, and cornstarch.
  • Place the chicken pieces in a large bowl and sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over them.
  • Add avocado oil and toss until every piece is thoroughly coated.
  • Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces for proper airflow.
  • Cook the Air Fryer Chicken Breast for 10 minutes. Larger pieces may require 12–13 minutes.
  • Check the internal temperature using a meat thermometer. The chicken is done when it reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Allow the chicken to rest for 3–5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Serve with roasted vegetables, rice, mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad.
  • Slice leftovers for sandwiches, wraps, and grain bowls.
  • Add cayenne pepper for extra heat.
  • A homemade gochujang-inspired dipping sauce pairs wonderfully with this recipe.
